VISITORS' CHARTER

Wherever we go and whatever we do, we have some impact on the environment and community.  By making positive choices during your visit to the Willow Tea Rooms, you can help us reduce our impact on the environment, conserve our natural assets and become a more sustainable destination.

Conserve Energy - Reduce energy by switching off lights and close windows if the heating is on.  The Energy Savings Trust (http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk) provides lots of helpful information on what you can do at home to conserve energy.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - At the Willow Tea Rooms, we take our recycling very seriously, as we hope you do at home.  Say no to packaging where possible, especially plastic bags.  Our staff will always ask if you require a plastic bag for your purchases.  There are recycling banks near to the Tea Rooms.  Please ask staff for more details.

Enjoy Local Products - Use local products, they give you a flavour of the area and help support local communities.  We are fortunate to have some fantastic producers of food and drink - enjoy our Scottish Savoury dishes - please ask for details.

Reduce traffic: walk, cycle or use public transport - Leave the car behind whenever possible.  Walk, cycle or use public transport.  There are excellent bus and train services for travelling around the City of Glasgow.  We will happily provide you with details of local services.

Be Water Wise - The UK has rising costs for water treatment and flood defences.  Please use water wisely and adhere to towel policies and other water saving guidance and initiatives.

Support Green Businesses - There are thousands of businesses in the British Isles working to reduce their carbon footprint through the Green Tourism Business Scheme.  The Willow Tea Rooms has currently achieved a silver award and is striving to improve on this at all times.  Please help us in our efforts.  Further information on the Scheme can be found at http://www.green-business.co.uk.
